SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) -- Crews continue to deconstruct what remains of the construction fire that broke out Tuesday on the corner of Octavia Boulevard and Oak Street in San Francisco’s Hayes Valley neighborhood. Photos provided by KRON4 Reporter Michael Thomas show the aftermath of the blaze. According to the Hayes Valley Neighborhood Association, this is not the first time a fire has happened in this area, and they have previously warned city leaders. The association noted several fires that had occurred in their neighborhood from tent encampments. On March 31, a car was lit on fire near a tent encampment and on April 24, a construction site was set on fire near a tent encampment. The following day, a tent encampment was up in flames, the association said. “Yes. I have seen, like, homeless, like putting fire on the corner. Once I saw a homeless like trying to grill food. Four elected prosecutors filed suit against the state of Georgia on Wednesday to stop a new law that gives appointees of the state’s Republican governor the power to remove elected district attorneys from office. Brian Kemp signed the bill into law in May.“This is a trend that we’re seeing across the country of state governments that don’t like how local communities want to address concerns about public safety,” said Josh Rosenthal, legal director at Public Rights Project, which is working on the suit. “When local communities are making choices that these conservative state governments don’t like, state governments aren’t respecting the will of the voters. SYDNEY (AP) — France has had to roll with the punches at the Women’s World Cup.The No. 5-ranked team was held to a surprise draw against Jamaica in its opening game and on Wednesday had the shock of going a goal down to Panama inside two minutes. France recovered to win 6-3 and advanced to the round of 16 atop Group F, but celebrations were muted after being pushed by another underdog.“From the get-go the most important thing for us was to finish at the head of the group after three games,” said France coach Herve Renard.
